Help for our 61 year old mother, shot three times

A phone call not anyone would want to receive or believe. Is this a dream or reality? 5:30AM to inform you that your mom has been shot. Trying to put myself together and waking myself up, hoping what I am hearing is really just a nightmare. But its not a dream, it's reality, my mother was shot.

My 61 year old mother of 5 children, a grandmother, and a wife was shot multiple times in her home while asleep in Oakland, CA. A reality we have to face and deal in today's society, not even safe in her own home, not even safe to sleep at night. She became a victim of a senseless act of crime... We are all thankful she is stable and still alive; however, she has a long road to recovery and is very traumatized from this experience and reliving each night of the nightmare.

Everything is still unknown on her health status, our mother has 3 holes in her body, multiple bullet fragments still inside her body. The last three weeks has been difficult, as she has been in and out of the ER multiple times. She is in constant pain and in need of help just to get up or move. Her wounds are severe, with inflammation and hematoma. We are still waiting to hear back whether the doctors would be able to remove any fragments, whether her injuries are still too severe for any surgery.

As her children, we all have not been able to share much, as we have been helping her with healing and get through her trauma. This has been an incredibly difficult time for my mother, and our family. No one could have forseen these circumstances. Endless stress, worries, and sleepless nights worrying about her health and whether or not we can get through this together as a family. We worry constantly for her safety, as well as ours when we go care for her...Will this happen again? We cannot sleep because we are scared to receive another call.

As her daughter and children, we just want her to get better. We want her to be safe and healthy again. Our family would greatly appreciate any donations. All funds will go towards her long road to recovery, any hospital/surgery fees, relocation to a safer area, mental counseling, and endless medical supplies, healthy foods, and etc to help in her healing process.

With all the AAPI hate crimes going around, we no longer feel safe for our own safety as well as hers. We hope the violence stops.
