Help for One of Our Local First Responders

Donation protected

Recently, during one of his shifts at work, Paramedic Max Garner began experiencing severe medical symptoms, and had to be rushed to the hospital on the very same ambulance that he was working on at the time.

Tragically, after a long period of tests and anxious waiting, doctors diagnosed Max with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Max’s doctors made the decision to aggressively treat his Leukemia with three separate phases of treatment, in an effort to save his life. Unfortunately, Max is unable to work during his treatment as it is taking an extreme physical toll on his body and mind.

Max is a lifelong public safety professional with over a decade of time spent working in EMS, and a previous career as a law enforcement officer. Max’s immediate family is comprised of his wife Rachel, who works in a clerical role for a local law enforcement agency, and their three children Isaac, Seth and Kaylee. Max is very active in his community and serves as an active member of his church, and is involved in his children’s sports leagues.

Max’s public safety family is coming together in his time of need, but we are also asking for your help. The whole situation leaves a lot of financial uncertainty for Max’s family at this time. Your help will assist Max’s family with their basic needs while he is unable to provide income for his family. It will also help with expenses related to his diagnosis, which will include bills for inpatient chemotherapy treatment at MD Anderson Cancer Hospital, medications that will require him to wear a backpack for constant medicinal application, up to 20 months of maintenance medication and transport to and from his home.

We appreciate any help you can provide, and we ask you to please pray for Max’s recovery and the welfare of his family.
