Please help this amazing soul that has been there for us all.
Jon collapsed yesterday while running. Thank God it was in a public place and an ambulance was called immediately.
He was transferred from Newport to Rhode Island Hospital into their Neurological unit. Initially doctors think it was a ruptured brain aneurysm. But as of now after the angiogram, they can’t see evidence of an aneurysm. There is however blood around his brain. A external ventricular drain was put in to relieve pressure and keep blood from pooling.
Jon needs our prayers and support!
Update:
Prayer Warriors Update: It’s been a whirlwind of the last 24 hours. Plenty of tears and whole lot of emotion as we continue to try and figure out what the cause of this brain bleed is.
Thankfully they were able to complete Jon’s MRI today, sadly he got sick again but didn’t spray the machine with his stomach like yesterday
We think we have the cause pinpointed but have the aneurysm team here at the hospital reviewing the imaging and hopefully will let us know by tonight with surgery scheduled first thing tomorrow morning. They are bringing in a specialist for the procedure.
Jon has a blister aneurysm of the carotid artery. Waiting on confirmation of the other team of doctors.
They will be hopefully putting a pipeline stent inside the artery and blocking future flow from the leaking site.
When we hear from the team of docs we will confirm diagnosis and he should be scheduled for surgery first thing tomorrow morning. This is what we have been anxiously waiting for, to find the source of the bleed and of it was an aneurysm or Perimesencephalic bleed.
Please keep the prayers coming. We have a long road ahead of us. Love you all!!
