Oliver White has osteosarcoma
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Wendy, Oliver's grandma. Oliver is 10 yrs old and has recently been diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a bone cancer in children. Oliver's cancer appeared after a fracture on the fibia growth plate at the knee. After more testing it has been discovered that the cancer has spread to his lungs. Because he is autistic he's really having a hard time coping with his pain and the effects of the pain meds. He is unable to understand the gravity of his illness and very sadly says, "I want my old leg back." He has already started his first of 3 rounds of chemo treatments in a 10 week period. Once the chemo is done Oliver will have to travel to Memphis to have the surgery to remove what is left of the tumor on his knee. Oliver's mom, Shannon, is unable to work and needs to be with her son nearly constantly while he deals with this horrible disease. Additionally Oliver's 8yr old sister, Charlie, who has her own everyday needs is having to be patient while most of mom's energy is dealing with Oliver. Shannon needs help with a dependable car and so many things that you don't realize you need until your child has cancer. I set the goal at $5,000 but she also needs so much more, like different living arrangements because Oliver will be using a wheelchair when he gets out of the hospital. Any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much,
Sincerely, Wendy Clarke
