Help for Olha's displaced family members
Donation protected
Dear friends of Olha,
As many of you know by now, multiple members of Olha's family in Ukraine, including 4 young children, have been displaced by the horrific invasion of their beautiful nation by Russian aggressors.
Their beloved city, and Olha's childhood home, Ivano-Frankivsk was one of the first to be bombed. Bombardment continued for hours with air raid sirens and barely a break in fire. It quickly became clear that the only safe option was to evacuate and leave behind their homes, possessions and a lifetime of memories. Olha has since been working tirelessly to help facilitate their safe passage to the EU.
Olha's sister Natalia and her husband Serhiy have just made it through the Polish border after more than 48 hours with limited water, food, and access to communications. They were able to leave in their car and with a few personal belongings and hope to ultimately get to Paris where their daughter has been living for a number of years.
Her sister-in-law Iryna is on a bus right now from the Polish border to Warsaw with 4 young children and her elderly mother in-law. They have nothing but a small backpack each and the clothes they are wearing. When they reach Warsaw, they will begin a new life from scratch.
While both parties have safely reached the EU they are essentially dependent on the goodwill of locals, which as we have seen on TV, has so far been nothing short of superhuman.
We would love your help in pulling together a fund that they can immediately access inside Poland so they can purchase necessary items for survival—food, water, clothes, toiletries etc.—and some nice comforts for the children.
We are looking further at a long-term goal of 20K which will be used to help the two groups establish themselves in their new cities with safe housing, health, and psychological care for the children in particular. We also hope to give some support to Olha's brother and nephew who remained in Ukraine to fight.
Please give what you can spare, it will mean so much and Slava Ukraini
