Help for Nochecita - the sweetest stray cat hit by a car!

Nochecita (means "Little Night") was hit by a car. The driver didn’t stop, leaving her injured on the dark roadside. Being completely black, she was almost invisible at night.

We were eating nearby when we heard her heartbreaking cry of pain. When we found her, she was covered in blood, her mouth and neck badly wounded. Locals gathered to help, bringing a cardboard box.

My partner, Igna, and I (Sarah) rushed her 30 minutes to the nearest open vet. They gave her anti-shock medication and treatment for internal bleeding but couldn’t do much more. The surgeon would arrive in the morning.

We took her to our accommodation at Rumah Magda , where Anna and Matteo kindly let us care for her. She lay in a warm, comfortable box while I lay beside her on the bathroom floor.

She was starving but couldn’t eat properly—her jaw was broken—so I fed her wet food, bit by bit, with my finger. She stopped trembling and started purring. She knew she was safe, but the pain was still there.

The next morning, we drove 45 minutes to Sunset Vet Kuta , hoping they could save her. The X-ray confirmed she has a broken jaw and fractured pelvic floor.

Blood tests showed severe anaemia, infections, and critically low PCV (20%), making her too weak for surgery right now.

With care, she can regain strength and be ready for surgery on her jaw and pelvis.

Without surgery, Nochecita will never walk again or eat properly. For a cat, that means she won’t survive.

Dr Ratih, the vet, says she is young (about 7 months old) and has a great chance of recovery after the operation.

She is now under the care of Villa Kitty , a wonderful foundation run by Elizabeth, who has supported us every step of the way. Once she recovers, she will be put up for adoption—and I have no doubt someone will fall in love with her because she is pure love.

All donations will go directly to Villa Kitty for Nochecita’s treatment, as they cannot cover the full cost of her surgery. If we don’t raise enough, she won’t get the surgery she desperately needs.

I know she’s just a stray. We all have our own pets and struggles. But I couldn’t leave her there, suffering in the dark. She is the sweetest cat, purring and cuddling even in pain.

I have cried for two days, searching for a way to help her. Now, I believe we can be her chance.
