Help for Nikki Mayer
Donation protected
My sister, Nikki Mayer, tested positive for COVID-19 at the end of July. She was taken to the hospital shortly after her diagnosis, after experiencing shortness of breath. Within several days, Nikki was moved to the ICU and was put on a ventilator. Despite the medical interventions, her condition was not improving. The doctors stated that Nikki has the most severe strain of COVID-19. Nikki lives in a rural community and the hospital she was taken to did not have the medical resources that Nikki needed to fight the virus. Having exhausted every treatment option available to them, the doctors recommended that Nikki be transferred to a larger hospital with expert medical staff who can manage severe cases of COVID-19 and that have access to specialized equipment which can give her chance to fight for her life. Nikki was airlifted to a larger hospital and was immediately put on the most aggressive treatments available. Nikki remains in critical condition in the ICU and is still on a ventilator, in addition to being on a rotoprone bed. Every treatment option available to heal her is being utilized to save the life of such a special person.
Nikki is a wife, mom, daughter, sister, mentor, friend, and servant within her community. 2 years ago, God answered Nikki’s prayers when he gave her a family. Nikki is a mom to 2 beautiful girls whom her and her husband adopted out of foster care. One of Nikki’s daughters has autism and relies heavily on Nikki to help her reach her maximum potential in all aspects of life. Nikki’s daughters need their mom to return home healthy and Nikki needs them just as much. We need a miracle to save her life. Nikki is truly a blessing to everyone she meets, and she gives so much of herself to others, while asking for nothing in return. COVID-19 has ravaged through her entire family, including her parents and sister, who both live locally. Multiple family members have been very ill with pneumonia and Nikki’s mom was also in the hospital for a week fighting COVID-19.
Please consider donating to help pay for Nikki’s hospital bills and other family needs. Nikki not being able to work has placed significant financial hardship on her family. Any amount of money will go a long way towards helping a family that has already been through so much.
