On Friday, May 29, Nate was driving alone on 17-92 when he was hit head on by another driver who was under the influence of drugs. The other driver was speeding the wrong way down the highway in an effort to escape police who were attempting to stop him. Nathan’s car was mangled beyond belief, with most of the damage on the drivers side. Miraculously, Nate survived the crash without any broken bones. However, he is in an immense amount of pain from the back of his head to his waist line... excruciating pain that meds can’t even touch. He was released to recover at home, but cannot leave his bed. His husband, Ronnie, is caring for him but they have a long road ahead of them. 

Nathan is extremely grateful to be alive, and was hesitant to agree to this gofundme because he’s very uncomfortable asking for help. He confided in me that he will have mounting medical bills and copays, down payment on a new car, loss of work for an undetermined amount of time while he recovers, etc, and reluctantly agreed to this campaign so that his loved ones can help. 

I know how loved Nate is and I know how many people would want the opportunity to offer whatever they can to help him and Ronnie as they go through this difficult period of recovery. 

Nathan insists that any money raised that isn’t used directly for his recovery and associated costs will go to a charitable cause, but I think we will likely all agree that he is worth every penny and should spend it on himself and Bear.
