Help for my neighbor Oleg

My name is Mike and I'm neighbor to a Ukrianian man, a guy who has long been our complex’s central auto mechanic and a long time friend and neighbor to many who live around here. Oleg Petren had a stroke in November around Thanksgiving Day which immediately made him unable to work. If this wasn’t hard enough, just after his disability payments kicked in, the California government here found that most of the 345,00 disability claims they were investigating were mostly fraudulent which has led to a huge slowdown in processing valid claims. It took California’s Employment Development Department months to get the paperwork to Oleg’s doctor just to get proof his claim was valid. As anyone who has experienced trying to get disability, even getting into the phone system can be a problem and he has spent hours a week trying to ensure these payments are moving. This has put Oleg and his partner Julia months behind on bill payments. So we’re asking for help to get them through until the disability checks start to arrive, which, given the slowdowns, could still be a while. Oleg is literally one of the hardest working human beings on Earth, before his stroke he worked full time and literally filled most of his other free time fixing up cars.
