Help For My Mommy To Receive Treatment
Thank you for your offer to help us. My mother, Sarah Espiritu, who just turned 45 this month has been in horrible pain and sleepless nights for over 5 months. When my mom was about 20 her body would shock her as if she stuck her finger in a light socket. The doctors didn’t know what was wrong with her so they tried giving her anti-seizures medication. When that didn’t work they put her on Valium (a terrible drug to be on) and misdiagnosed her. This helped Sarah somewhat, so she remained on it for a bit over 18 years. This helped her live somewhat of a normal life in raising her two children, but was still in constant pain throughout her days. When doctors began knowing more about Lyme disease she was then after 20 years rightfully diagnosed. So when she took herself off Valium (Diazepam) the shocking and tremors where unbearable! Her body is described as fire on the inside! Torment she calls it! Her body contorts and shakes continually with horrible pain. She can’t sleep because the shocking wakes her up. With not being able to sleep, she paces her bedroom floor for hours upon time, just crying out to Jesus to take away all this pain. Sarah and my grandma are two of the strongest women I have ever known. With very little sleep and pain has caused her body to age and at times to cloud her thinking. Now coming off this drug she is battling Akathisia and Dystonia. Akathisia is defined as, "a state of agitation, distress, and restlessness that is an occasional side-effect of anti-psychotic." Dystonia is defined as, "a state of abnormal muscle tone resulting in muscular spasm and abnormal posture, typically due to neurological disease." This means, it literally looks as though my mother's body is seizing out, but in reality, she cannot control nor stop these very painful spasms. Sarah and my grandmother are very sensitive to prescription drugs so doctors and the hospital can do nothing for her. My grandma is a researcher! She has spent hours and hours trying to find help for my mother. What she has known is that the only help for Sarah is natural and from those who know something about Lyme disease and what she is going through now. Sarah’s insurance ran out because her husband Tommy took off work to be her caretaker. Tommy has now gone back to work so my grandma takes care of my mom during the day. Yet, most every place that helps people like Sarah does not take insurance. We are all Christians believing that God is in absolute complete control of our lives and health. We tried a drug rehab center, but they could do nothing for her because she is not a drug addict! Many people have been praying for for my mom and we are so thankful for that! We have come to the place where we hope God will heal my mother with the help of others! Only by Gods grace has my family been able to keep a roof over their heads! My grandmother has found a place in Tennessee that they have an appointment with early next month! We even are looking into a place in Arizona. But the cost is $45,000 to $85,000 for 8-12 weeks stay. So we’ll have to find a place to live during this time as well, if this is the door we are hoping and praying God has opened. We live in San Diego. I’ve had a hard time in my life asking others for help. When I told a good brother in Christ what was happening he said to me; “Why haven’t you asked for help so we can be blessed!” Acts 20:35- "I have shewed you all things, how that so laboring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive."
The first photo is what Sarah looked like before all of these symptoms. She has endured dramatic weight loss. She is not very confident to be showing her face, but to describe it: her eyes have sunken into her face, her skin on her arms are droopy and stretchy, her face has even aged due to the weight lost from this all.
So thank you for considering helping my mom and our family. God bless you all.
