Hello All, my name is Patrick Barrett, and I am originally from Thicketts District in Discovery Bay, St Ann’s, Jamaica. My family and their small community in Discovery Bay have been devastated by Hurricane Melissa that struck the island on 28th October 2025.

It is now a month after Melissa, the devastation and damage is truly heartbreaking. The people of Jamaica are not strangers to hurricanes and the devastation they cause, but this one is unfortunately the worse one yet.

The local school has lost its roof and suffered severe structural damage. All the books, furnitures and school facilities no longer exists. Many homes have been battered or completely destroyed, leaving families without shelter or belongings. The entire community is struggling to recover.

I am raising funds to send direct assistance to the community to help repair the school, rebuild homes, and support families who have lost everything. While there will be larger national relief efforts across Jamaica, small communities in areas like Discovery Bay often go unnoticed and don’t receive the help they desperately need to rebuild their lives.

All funds raised will be given directly by me to those who need it most, ensuring the money reaches families and individuals who have been hardest hit and helps them begin to rebuild their lives.
