Help for my family in Poland
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Ola, and I’m reaching out to ask for your help. My family in Poland has just experienced a devastating flood, one that swept through Central Europe. Their home, farm buildings, garage, and yard were severely damaged. Everything downstairs, including furniture and appliances, has been destroyed.
Here’s the story of how they got here:
My parents married young and, like many starting out, faced challenges. After I was born, we lived in a small apartment with my mom’s dad, but space was tight. When I was a child, my dad’s father generously saved enough money to buy them a farm. At first, the farm wasn’t livable. It was rundown and in dire need of repairs. My dad worked tirelessly, selling and repairing cars during the day and renovating the farm at night, while my mom cared for me and my younger brother. Slowly but surely, they transformed the old farm into our home.
But in 1997, disaster struck. A flood ravaged the area, destroying everything they had built. My parents were devastated, but they didn’t give up. They rebuilt the home, piece by piece, restoring it to a place where we could live again.
Now, more than 27 years later, another flood has come. It’s not as bad as the one in 1997, but it’s still heartbreaking. Last weekend, September 14-15, the flood damaged the house again. My dad, who had already lived through this once, was overwhelmed by the devastation. He was rushed to the hospital, and we suspect he had a heart attack. We don’t know for sure yet, but what we do know is that he doesn’t have the strength to rebuild from scratch a second time.
I’m asking for your help to raise funds so that my family can restore their home and get back to some sense of stability. Your support, no matter how small, would mean the world to us during this incredibly difficult time.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
