Help for my dear friend Roxanne and her family

My name is Rachel Scheen, I live in the hills of Monrovia, CA and I am trying my best to help my very dear friend whose family has had way more than their share of tragedy this year and they could use our help. Roxanne and her family live in New Orleans and have been pummeled by hurricane Ida, along with some other tragedies. Let me start at the beginning. Last year at the height of Covid, Roxanne had an almost fatal reaction to one of the medications that she takes for diabetes. It was one of those side effects that the drug commercials rush through at the end of their ads for medication. As a result of this reaction, Roxanne went into a coma and her organs started to shut down. She was taken to the hospital by ambulance (this was July 2020 – when Covid was everywhere) and kept in the ICU for two weeks. She made it through, but her recovery was long and arduous. However, Roxanne is one of the strongest and most resilient people I know and bounced back quickly, despite the debilitating after-effects from her condition. In addition to the hospital bills, the mental and physical toll, however, was grave.
Next was a hit and run car accident where Roxanne was in her car, waiting at a red light, on her way to pick up her daughter at school. Another driver crashed into her at the red light at full speed, smashing the back of her car and pushing her into the car in front of her. The driver then proceeded to drive away from the scene of the accident before the police arrived. The family’s sole car was totaled, and of course insurance only gives a fraction of a what a car is worth – even with a hit-and-run. This is enough to push anyone into despair, but there is more.
In the aftermath of hurricane Ida, Roxanne was held at gunpoint with an assault weapon in front of her own home and carjacked. The car was new (after the hit-and-run accident), paid in full and they will again have to fight for compensation with the insurance company. Roxanne is now suffering with extreme PTSD and doesn't know how her family will get through this without some aid. Funds that are contributed will be going towards a car, therapy, and healthcare bills.
So many people use go fund me accounts for much less tragedy than this, I hope you can find it in your heart to offer this amazing family some relief. I know that Roxanne has contributed to so many people in need via GoFundMe accounts, and now it is our time to support her.
