Help for my Dad’s Life-Saving Treatment
Donation protected
In July last year my Dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The tumour location was on the head of the pancreas blocking a main artery, making it extremely risky remove. My Dad had to undergo 3 surgeries which resulted in severe complications (peritonitis and pancreonecrosis), had to stay 6 months in hospital, bedridden, with 13 drainages in the belly, on parenteral nutrition only (through the veins) … There was nothing else that doctors could do, so they sent us home. I refused to give up and I carried on looking after my Dad at home and praying day and night for a miracle. His recovery took off slowly and the tumour had finally cleared.
However, all of a sudden, last month his condition deteriorated: the tumour had relapsed and spread metastasis to his liver. Now our only hope is a private clinic that offers the appropriate treatment but we cannot afford to fund it.
I am the only working person in my family and a career to my Dad. I am grateful for my job allowing me the flexibility to care for him as I have to perform nursing duties 24/7 and support him through the mental fight with his deteriorating health.
But I need help… I am making a desperate plea to all my friends, colleagues, acquaintances, to anyone who has ever feared for the life of a parent or a loved one, to anyone who can help… I need to raise the money for my Dad’s treatment at the private clinic and give him and my family that last hope.
