Due to an unexpected medical adversity, I'm requesting the funds for my 16-year-old son who will need accommodations at home, car repairs for a 2002 van/reliable transportation to transport him to rehabilitation & doctor's appointments regularly. The funds I'm requesting would allow me to make necessary adjustments as a single Mom caring for my family of 7. There hasn't been much room left for many unexpected life traumas and the challenges they bring.

    On the morning of Feb 8th, I sent my 16-year-old athletic, healthy son off to school. By the end of the night, he was being rushed from an away high school basketball game to a nearby hospital's ER. Apparently, he had been exhibiting stroke-like symptoms prior to performing in the game he loves. Thankfully the head of the school, his coach, and the school nurse were present to quickly jump into action to get an ambulance to take him to the hospital. I was at home approximately an hour away and simply waiting for an update on the game when I got the frightening call.

    The blessing is that he's alive and appears to have no cognitive damage. I'm asking for funds, however, to ensure proper care for Monty.  The hope is to optimize his healing during this crucial window of opportunity in his recovery. He can grow to overcome this event, develop into an even stronger young man, and one day pay it forward.
