Anna and Ben are a young Military couple with a strong faith and family bond. They were elated when they were told that Anna was not only pregnant again, but that they were now to be blessed with twin girls! Of all days, Anna went into labor hours before their Baby shower. What was planned as a day of celebration turned into a day of prayers as Anna gave birth to Alexandria Grace and Liliana Elizabeth at only 29 weeks. Like their now year and a half old sister Laura who was also born premature, both babies are under close medical supervision, and were born at only 3 lbs. Since their daughters births on June 22nd, Anna and Ben have made the 1 hour and 45 minute, 86 mile journey to and from the hospital where their daughters are being cared for, and are now bearing the additional burden of the gas that has quickly added up, as well as the higher cost of food. They were unprepared for this expense, yet still declined assistance of this kind when offered at first, not wanting to ask anyone for help. After some pressure from friends, and with their funds going low, they are now willing to let us help them and assist in lessening the financial stress so their attention can remain on their daughters who are expected to be at the hospital for quite some time.
Alexandria has been a fighter! She has had some medical setbacks since her birth, and tomorrow will go into surgery. She needs ventricular reservoir brain surgery to drain excessive cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) that has been building up in the ventricles of her brain. This sweet, tiny princess will be intubated, and under anesthesia which is a fragile process for a baby of her size.
Both babies are on respiratory support and are receiving all of their feedings through a feeding tube or an IV.
More than anything, we sincerely ask everyone for prayers this is successful and that everything from here on out is nothing but uphill and filled with miracles and good news!
Ben has served as a Marine for 3 and a half years and is currently serving in Camp Lejeune North Carolina. Anna has left her family up North to be here with her husband, in true military wife fashion. Their lives revolve around serving this country and caring for their daughters. Those who know them know it is not just sweet talk when we say what amazing, kind and loving people they are. We ask that you not only pray, but please contribute what you can to help in their daily travels to and from the hospital to be with their daughters, and the growing cost of food since they are unable to have their meals at home. If the funds contributed exceed this cost, additional money will be used for medical expenses and to help with the babies physical needs they had not yet purchased, since they arrived much earlier than expected. Please share this with a friend, do what you can, and together we can help the only true way we are able to. We thank you so much for taking the time, and donating if able to. It's true when they say every little bit adds up, so please do what you can!
