As he is a transplant recipient, they did a ton of blood work, and when Mike reviewed it, after coming home, he found his blood sugar was high. He went back into the hospital where the doctors found that his pancreas had gone into rejection. Mike is now diabetic again and needs to check his sugars and take insulin regularly. He is lucky to have caught it before it did significant damage to his transplanted kidney.
Mike missed a lot of work during this time, having to bail on jobs that he already had committed to. He now has the extra expense of buying insulin, on top of a pile of medical bills plus the deductible on his motorcycle. He was just cleared by his doctors to return to work but is now significantly behind and we are moving into the slow time in our business.
I really want to thank everyone that has called or texted him during this tough time, it means a lot. Many of you have asked what you can do to help and right now Mike needs to not be so stressed about making his rent and paying these bills. Please feel free to share this, I am not friends with everyone he knows on FB.
