During his more than 40-year career in advertising and journalism, Mike Haugen, 66, of Richland, helped thousands of people with their marketing plans. He was the advertising director at the Tri-Cities Area Journal of Business and Senior Times for nearly 14 years.
He worked relentlessly to make our community a better place to live, work and raise our families through his volunteer work and care of customers. He was one of the biggest cheerleaders of the Tri-City business community.
Mike went to the ER on Sept. 25, and received a diagnosis on Oct. 5: metastatic, high-grade neuroendocrine cancer.
Unfortunately, chemotherapy was unable to take place as complications from surgery made his body too weak to endure treatment. Mike moved Oct. 22 to the Chaplaincy Hospice House in Kennewick and peacefully passed Oct. 26.
