On 7/29/22, my father, Mike Foster, was admitted to St Mary’s hospital in Grand Junction for a spinal reduction surgery to address a serious injury and preserve his remaining mobility and prevent complete paralysis of his arms. The surgery took four hours and my dad spent another 3 weeks in an inpatient rehabilitation center in the hospital. My dad has since returned home to Parachute and will continue to require occupational and physical therapy in and around Grand Junction, Rifle, and Parachute.
Like many people my parent’s age, Michael and my mother, Carolyn Vaughan are on a limited income. Their ongoing needs include the construction of a ramp outside their home, modifications to their house to make it more accessible and safer for my dad to navigate, gas money for the long drive to occupational and physical therapy, and of course the incurred medical expenses associated with his surgery, recovery and ongoing therapies. We would greatly appreciate any contribution towards this GoFundMe to help ensure my parents are able to continue to live independently and to help improve my dad’s quality of life.
