Help for Mick and his Family

Mick will be a familiar face to many of you. Some will know him from the gym, some from him being your friendly window cleaner, but above all, he is a fiercely loyal friend, brother, son, loving husband, and father.

Just a few months ago in July 2022, after many (dismissed) repeat visits to his GP and hospital, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer which had rapidly spread to his peritoneum and liver. Despite a swift start with chemotherapy and other medication, Mick is now too unwell to continue with treatment and is receiving palliative care.

In the same month, he moved with his wife and two children of 3 and 1 year’s old into their new home. Due to his illness, he has been unable to work which has resulted in a decreasing savings fund to cover existing bills, as well as the inevitable ones to come.

They are not eligible for help from the government.

Many of you will be shocked to learn of Micks diagnosis this is because he is such a proud and private man therefore so many people have been unaware of the battle he has been fighting, as such, I’m sure his family and himself will be less willing to appeal for funds themselves, therefore we are doing so for them because we love Mick, Carli and their two beautiful babies Frankie and Tommy and don’t want them to be any worse off financially going through this very difficult time.

For this reason, I am starting a Go Fund Me page in the hope that if people are in a position to help, they would consider doing so. Any money raised would go towards short-term finances and alternative therapies with any left-over amounts to be donated to Thames Hospice.
