Help for Michelle's Bypass Surgery Complications
Donation protected
On Tuesday September 19th Michelle was admitted to the hospital in Binghamton for chest pains. They discovered calcium blockages from her anti-rejection medication from over the last 11 years. As Michelle is a liver transplant survivor on the evening of September 23rd she was transported by ambulance to New York - Presbyterian/ Columbia University Irving Medical Center. On Sept 26th, Michelle underwent triple bypass surgery. The surgical team was able to successfully complete 2 bypasses and replace her aortic valve. The surgery was much more extensive than originally anticipated, 9 hours long. Since the surgery there have been many ups and downs, Michelle's heart is functioning; however, she is currently experiencing complications with her lungs and kidneys. Michelle has been on a ventilator and ECMO, which are currently keeping her alive. After a team was able to move her for a CT scan on Sunday, the results showed air outside her upper right lung, atelectasis in the lung basis, infection and extra fluid in the chest and body.
We are asking for donations, along with continued thoughts and prayers to assist the Merry's financially during Michelle's stay at Columbia in NYC. Michelle's husband Bryan, daughter Allie, and sister Mary Jo have been with her in NYC the whole time. Her oldest daughter Katie and husband Jeremy were down this past weekend. Her son Nicholas plans to travel down from Canada. As you can imagine the expenses for staying in NYC are and will continue to pile up. Any small donation will be appreciated.
