A few weeks ago, my brother was perfectly healthy. Today, he is a C5-C6 quadriplegic, paralyzed from the chest down after a freak accident where he fell and landed on his neck.

This traumatic spinal cord injury has changed everything. In addition to paralysis, he's facing serious complications such as unstable blood pressure and weakened lung function — both common but dangerous challenges for someone with this type of injury. His recovery will be long and incredibly difficult.

To make things even more challenging, my brother was working as a **1099 independent contractor**, which means **he didn’t have health insurance** at the time of the accident. The medical expenses are already overwhelming, and the long-term costs — including medications, medical equipment, rehabilitation, home modifications, transportation, and ongoing care — are only just beginning.

We’re doing everything we can as a family, but we need help. Any donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward his care, equipment, and recovery. I don't know exactly how much things are going to be but anything medical is never cheap.

If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this with others. Every bit of support helps.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

  • Update:

its been about 2 months, we' e had some rough days between pressure wounds (pretty bad one), blood transfusions (for low blood counts), 2 really bad stomach ulcers, and 2 more surgery's. One for a hole in his stomach and the latest one to get a colostomy bag put in. But we are still on the road to recovery.

We've recently found a temporary house that will work for Gerry to be able to come home to, but still need to be able to get a lot of things for him!

The one thing he wants to be able to do the most is to take a shower, so lil sis is gonna make that happen for him!!!!!!!!
