Hello! We are the Pinto’s and our beautiful 6 month old baby girl Elliana is our EVERYTHING! Elliana’s dad Michael Pinto, is a Paramedic with AMR in Stockton, CA. Her mom Heather Pinto, was a 911 dispatcher but was unable to return to work due to Elli having medical issues. Elli has been in severe pain since she was two weeks old. We took her to her pediatrician and explained that our new baby screams in horrible high pitch screams out of nowhere while at the same time showing symptoms of abdominal pain, distended stomach, bad gas, pulling her legs up to her chest , blood in her stool, and many other symptoms that have progressed to now. We started from the basics of ruling out milk intolerance, colic, GERD, and all the other things it could be. This has taken many months of testing at some of the best children’s hospitals that exists, which has also broken us financially (we would do it all over again for her). At 6 months we are now taking her to Stanford Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital and it has been identified that there is definitely something wrong with her intestines and she also has a mobile cecum. Now that the Doctors know there is something anatomically wrong they have to do a lot more testing and identify exactly what to do for her. There is a big possibility of surgery in the future if the doctors decide that’s what is best for her. Elli’s mom grew up in a first responder family and knows how strong the brotherhood is of first responders out there. It’s hard for us to ask for help as we are helpers ourselves, however financially we are at the point where we need to ask the community for help. This has been a long scary journey that is far from over and we are so thankful to all who are able to help. We are so happy and in love with our little girl and we are doing everything we can to get her feeling better!
