Help for Medical Bills, Treatments & Surgeries

Hi, my name is Nahal Hale, also known as PrincessLittleTree, the wife of my Rock Star, Ed Hale. As you know, Ed has been struggling with a degenerative spinal disorder that is causing him excruciating pain in his back (lumbar and thoracic) and also both his legs. It is also making it extremely difficult for him to walk. Even though it has been over a year, the Doctors are still trying to determine all the causes of the pain and leg problems so they can address everything that is wrong and not have to go back because they missed something.

The process has been made more difficult by having to deal with an insurance company denying tests and treatments ordered by doctors. This is making the ordeal last twice as long as it needs to. It is the worst feeling watching someone you love in pain and not being able to help alleviate it.

We've been attempting to manage the increased expenses of medical bills, treatments, procedures, tests and medications since Ed's diagnosis. But after over a year it has become increasingly difficult. Now we are often having to choose between recurring bills and living expenses or doctors' bills. And we are not even at the stage of his surgeries yet. The doctors have stated that Ed "will need multiple surgeries split up over a year with recovery time between each".

We were hoping to get through this without crowdfunding, but we have to be realistic. We need help to get through the next several months with all the expenses and whatever else the doctors order to determine the root causes of his pain and his difficulty walking. Hopefully, we will know more soon once more tests are done. He has brain and cervical scans coming up at the end of April.

This has been such an emotional journey for us over the last year, and we have been so deeply moved and humbled by the outpouring of love, caring, support and prayers from all of you, our family, friends, colleagues and complete strangers even. You have touched us deeply.
