Help for Matthew Ryker's Medical expenses

Hello Everyone,

Our names are Jim and Michelle Ryker and our son is Matthew Ryker. We are reaching out for help for our son as he was brutally attacked in June and was rushed to trauma care in Indianapolis, IN on life support. He is so very fortunate to still be alive and with us today. He spent several days in the ICU and has already gone through two surgeries, with at least 2 more to go.

His face, jaw and nose were all broken severely, and his clavicle was broken in four places. He also obtained four broken ribs and a fractured sternum. His first surgery was for his clavicle which he had to have a metal plate and screws placed on it in order for it to heal properly. His second surgery was on his face to have a metal plate placed on his right eye socket, and also had screws placed on the inside of his mouth both top and bottom and rubber banded shut to keep his jaw wired shut to heal properly.

He is now out of hospital, but more surgeries will be needed after things have had time to heal. He will still need surgery on his nose in 3-4 months because he can not currently breath out of it which is causing a lot of breathing issues since he already has asthma. And once his jaw has fully healed he will also need dental work done to help fix his bite and alignment that were damaged from the fracture.

As you can only imagine these medical bills are going to be outrageous and he has been out of work with no income for over a month now. This is not in our nature, nor our sons, to reach out for help but in this situation we please ask for any help with donations if you are able to do so. Any amount would help him out tremendously and would be greatly appreciated! Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as he has a long road of recovery ahead of him, both physically and mentally. We thank God each and every day that we still have this young man in our lives. He has 2 amazing children that adore him so incredibly much as well as friends and family that do as well.

Matthew has always been the type of guy to put all his efforts in helping and caring for others, especially in times of need without every asking for anything in return. He’s just a loving and caring type of person, and we hope that you are able to help him in any way possible.
