On December 6th Matt had a seizure while he and Shannon were driving. Shannon was able to get him to pull over and she called 911. The paramedics arrived quickly and made the decision to transport him to the hospital. He had a 2nd seizure in route and had to be intubated. At the hospital it was discovered that he had suffered from an aneurysm. The doctors were able to stop the bleed. At the time the family was told that Matt might wake up in 48 hours. Stubborn as he is, Matt started to wake up in about 12 hours and the next morning he was able to track with his eyes and he knew his name and he knew who Shannon was. He has made gains and he is strong, but the road ahead is long. He will be in the ICU for at least 21 days and then there will be some time in rehab.
