Support for Marshall Pinnix and Family

Our Mission:

Tragically and much too early, all of us lost our good friend Marshall Pinnix on Saturday, June 12.  He was a loving husband and father with friends all over the country including his original home state of Maryland and many communities throughout California.

His wife Carla and 4 kids - Chad, Melissa, Zach, and Olivia - were fortunate to have such a great husband and father for so many years and we were lucky too.  Now we would like to show them how much his friends loved Marshall and care about his family.

The objective of this GoFundMe campaign is first to help with funeral expenses, but more importantly to help the kids achieve their goals including college educations.  All funds in excess of basic funeral costs will be put in a trust to help the kids.

My name is Tom Ward and I have been friends of the Pinnix family for over 10 years. Marshall and I coached baseball teams for his son Zach and my son Brandon for a number of years; lots of great memories. It is just heartbreaking to so many that Marshall passed away this past Saturday, June 12 -- Too Young, Too Soon. Marshall had friends all over the country. Born and raised in Maryland he moved to California just after college and worked for MobileComm where he made lifelong friendships. He touched so many lives and his friends are banding together to help his family now that he is gone. 

Marshall was always available to anyone for anything and he volunteered a lot. He loved giving back to all around him; a great friend, but mostly a loving husband to Carla, and a great dad to his kids, who he also loved.

Carla and her kids need our assistance; lots to do in this time period, and it all costs money. Carla has been by Marshall’s side, and he has (obviously) not been working so they are tight on funds right now. Anything anyone can do to help economically would be greatly appreciated. Please know that the funds raised will be put into a trust to ensure that funeral expenses and the educational needs of his kids are met. Our goal is to raise $25,000. Maybe we consider not capping the amount?  Perhaps we just say our goal to provide as much funds as possible toward the needs of his college aged children.  

As I’m sure most of you know, the Pinnix family was rich in love and blessed with smart, successful children.  However, they did face financial hardship and struggle for a long period of time. 

Marshall was a proud man.  He was also a good father who was quick to share how great his kids were doing in school, athletics and work.  I’m sure Marshall would be comforted to know that his family will not have to face the burden of laying him to res
