Emergency Assistance for Markita
A dedicated frontline worker, Markita has been hard at work during the pandemic, but found herself struggling to maintain finances and lost her car. Despite remaining in contact with her lender about her situation and being only one week away from garnering the additional funds needed, her car was heartlessly repossessed, incurring additional expense and leaving her without means to get to her job. MARTA routes are currently unavailable near her home, having been cut due to COVID-19. This leaves rideshare services and taxis, which are not financially viable options long-term.
To add additional strain, she has been given two weeks to produce the funds needed before her car is auctioned.
Most, if not all, of us are but one financial hardship or medical event away from finding ourselves in similar situations. This is an unjust and impossible situation to get out of without some outside assistance. Markita is famously independent and reluctant to ask for help, so let’s reward her immense bravery in giving permission to crowdsource some blessings.
