Marilyn does a lot for DAA and DPSV, and she is well known and loved in the community. This Pandemic has affected so many people, and unfortunately Marilyn has been impacted in a big way. Marilyn has been very ill and she is recovering from surgery. This fundraiser is for Marilyn and her family so A. Marilyn can afford her medication and medical care and B. Marilyn can move out of her current living situation. Marilyn’s medication is very expensive and is necessary for her to recover. Also she must move out of her current apartment so she can get the daily care she needs. Marilyn and her family need these funds as soon as possible.

“Friends and Family: Please feel free to share this information. Some details are a little icky.
On Saturday, May 2nd, after a month's long health care referral snafu,I was finally visit by a Nurse Practitioner who specializes in wound care. This breakthrough came because of the work of a good friend who is an experienced long-time State Assembly Staffer.
By the end of May 2, I was in the the E.R. of Henry Mayo Hospital being treated for 101 fever; unlike the last two times this happened this month the E.R. Dr. decided to take the wound and leg pain seriously and through a number of tests discovered an abscess below the wound that was many time larger.
I was admitted and had other standard pre-op tests on Sunday. Surgery was performed Monday, May 4. The surgeon reported that he had to "debrave" basically dig out and down about 21/2 inches and remove infect tissues and also cut of part of an infected bone.
I was discharged on Thursday evening May 7, because there was no longer any medical necessity for me to remain hospitalized. I was assured everything I needed and a daily nurses would need would be waiting for me at home. It was not. So more than a week later things are slowly getting sorted out, except still no evidence of a steady stream of materials for the wound; nurses are having to be creative.
I had my post op visit with the surgeon yesterday. He said the wound was looking okay and it will just take time to heal. Basically, I need to stay in bed or at least laying in the TV chair as much as possible. I have been asked to take Juven and try to take three protein drinks per day.
So, this means I am not able to do any work or school. When I am a bit better school work will be my priority; it is going to be some time before I am a useful Dem volunteer or attend meetings - even remotely.
