Hello, my name is Theresa and I'm collecting donations for my friend Lotta who has a really tough story. I know that she has a great chance for a better future if she gets help. That's why I'm asking for your support. Lotta is at an age where life is still full of opportunity and potential.
In 2012 she came down with the normal flu, unaware it would progressively get worse over the next decade. In May of that same year, a virus hit her central nervous system and she was diagnosed with ME/CFS - the Debilitating Chronic Fatigue Syndrome - a serious chronic illness. She started to experience systemic pain like never before and an extreme sensitivity to light including the sun. Due to these symptoms, Lotta has lived isolated and bedridden in a dark room.
She was also diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease around the same time. At this point, her life had completely changed. She had to leave her hobbies and her work behind due to the extreme pain and fatigue she was experiencing. For the last few years, she has been receiving government assistance. She has to apply for it every second month though and she never knows if she'll get this financial support or not. She is extremely grateful for it, but unfortunately even when she gets that financial support (wich doesn't happen every month) the money from the government is – due to the high inflation – not even enough for her living expenses. Without the support that Lotta received through the go fund me she would have already been homeless - she has little to no family and friends that can support her. We‘re positive that she wouldn‘t survive homelessness in her condition.
A couple of years later, she got Lyme Disease. All of her symptoms multiplied exponentially. Her skin, joints, muscles, and entire body ache 24/7, leaving her bedridden. The pain has no off switch - it debilitates her throughout the day. This constant lingering pain has become her new normal, and her lack of energy has forced her to surrender, leaving her suffering silently on her own.
Normal daily tasks like putting on clothes are extremely difficult. The way clothing rubs against her skin makes her feel as if she is bleeding everywhere. Even walking to the toilet was not possible for her in the past, which forced her to crawl on the ground to the toilet.
She is still not able to do her grocery shopping and still barely able to prepare her meals, or cook for herself, leaving her without food until late in the evening or night. She is so light sensitiv, that even when she has her windows covered, all her symptoms get worse during the day. She doesn't have any energy to do daily tasks. Even exerting herself in any physical way gives her debilitating fatigue. It has come to the point where she can't take care of herself. It breaks her mind, heart, and soul daily to suffer this much. The world might be living in 2023 but for Lotta her life stopped 11 years ago.
In 2017, her heart stopped beating but she was brought back to life. In the winter of 2021 she was down to 25 kilos (55 pounds) and close to death again but she discovered a treatment and diet that has freed a lot of people from similar diseases. For the first time in 11 years, her condition has improved a bit.
All donations will be taken with the utmost gratitude. With proper funds, she will be able to stay in the small flat that she is living in currently and to afford food and what her body needs in order to heal. Your donations would make a big difference and help to safe her life.
