Help for Lori during her extended recovery

Hi everyone,

I'm setting up this fundraiser on behalf of Lori Trimble. On December 12, Lori had surgery to repair a major hernia. The surgery went well, but she had a few setbacks in the days following the surgery. Once her medical team got things moving in the right direction, she was able to go home on Dec 18th. While she was able to spend the holidays at home, Lori was readmitted to the hospital on Jan 4th with fluid accumulating in her abdomen and signs of infection.

Lori's medical team is making some progress getting the infection under control, but she's had a series of setbacks that have massively extended her recovery time. She won't be able to return to work for quite some time, and she's going to need home health care to help continue to treat the infection and prevent additional setbacks. She needs to try to extend her FMLA and request catastrophic leave coverage from work because she doesn't have enough paid leave to cover all of this. In the meantime, bills don't take a vacation!
