Last night, after a Thanksgiving meal with my daughter and son-in-law, my 4 year old grandson, Lucas, was taken to the hospital. He had been sick for 2 weeks and after a few trips to urgent care and the pediatrician’s office, we learned he was misdiagnosed. 

After running some some blood tests last night, Lucas was transferred to Children’s Hospital with a preliminary diagnosis of leukemia. A few hours later he was sent up to Denver Children’s where the diagnosis was confirmed. He’s currently awaiting a spinal tap,  bone marrow biopsy, and port placement.  His condition will be updated here as we learn more. 

Michaela, my daughter, had no choice but to quit work today as we have no idea how long Lucas will be away from home. Drew does not have time off. There’s little need to describe the medical insurance piece and what they will face. There are three other children at home; two in school and a baby.

Donations will go toward medical bills, living expenses, and transporatation as the hospital is 90 minutes away. Prayers, financial help, and anything you think of is grateful appreciated.
