Help for little Louis and his tummy

Little Louis is a permanent resident at All Cats Rescue, and has recently been suffering from gastrointestinal issues, which he is under veterinary care and investigation for.

Today’s vet bill alone came to £179, and we also ordered some specialised food and digestive care supplements this week for £66... and there’s more expense to come.

Louis has to have home vet visits, as he has compromised breathing capabilities, and the stress of travelling in the car, and being in any strange environment (such as the vet clinic, with the noise of people and other animals) cause him to struggle to breathe, to the point of collapse.

Apart from veterinary costs, food and medication, there are also expenses on the 'little' things that add up - even extra bedding and cleaning products (because things have been getting a bit messy).

If you can spare a little now or on pay day, we could really do with some help to cover our ongoing costs, on the road to getting Louis back to good health.

By way of background, Louis came to us at All Cats Rescue at only a few weeks old, seriously ill with a bad chest infection, and with disabilities (his front legs were curved inwards, and his chest cavity and ultimately his lung capacity was compromised by a deformity of his ribcage).

His issues appear to have stunted his growth, and – even now at 2 years old - he has remained approximately the size and weight of a 6 month old kitten.

He really does not handle any stress well, and tends to collapse breathlessly if faced with any attempt to handle him - especially during vet visits - due to being unable to get enough air in his lungs.

Because of all his special needs, Louis will always remain in our care. He enjoys a happy life here in a home environment, with other cats who he likes the company of, and who recognise that he is ‘different’, and are very gentle with him.

Of course, we love Louis very much, and feel honoured to be able to offer him a forever home, and all the care he needs. We just need a little help sometimes with covering costs for him, as we are self-funded and we rely on the generosity of supporters to help him, while we also cover the costs of other cats in our care.
