Hi, I’m Carissa, mum to brave little boy, Cade.

On March 12th, our world changed in an instant. A freak lawnmower accident in our backyard left Cade with life‑changing injuries and the loss of his left foot — just days before his 3rd birthday. What should have been an ordinary afternoon became every parent’s worst nightmare.

Following the accident, Cade was in hospital for 2 months, endured 16 surgeries, countless hospital stays, and more challenges than any child should ever face. He continues to show courage that humbles us every day, but the road ahead is long and full of treatments, therapies, and future surgeries as he grows.

As parents, Tony and I are doing everything we can, but the emotional and financial strain is immense. I’ve reduced my work hours to almost half time to care for Cade, and Tony has had to restructure his work completely. Our savings and leave are gone, and the ongoing costs of travel, appointments, daycare, and living expenses are piling up.
