Hello, my name is Danielle and I’ve been friends with Lindsay Burke for over 20 years. Anyone who knows Lindsay knows she is an extremely hard worker, a great mom, and has an amazing heart. Lindsay would do just about anything for anyone. To say the last year has been an uphill battle would be a gross understatement. Last December she was diagnosed with cancer due to an autoimmune disorder and conquered it with the grace, poise and a positive attitude that I love about her.

In July, she fulfilled a lifelong dream of buying a new house at the beach where she lives with her two girls now. With a brand new job, as a PA, things started looking up.

About a week ago, Lindsay was enjoying a family day at the trampoline park when she suffered a horrible accident. Unfortunately, she broke her fibula and landed in the hospital for a week due to the trauma. Because of the severity of the injury, metal rods had to be placed outside her body to stabilize her leg, and then the second surgery placed metal plates around the bones inside her leg. More surgery is expected, as they are unaware of the damage done to the knee itself.

While Lindsay is happy to be out of the hospital, she is unable to place any weight on her leg for at least three months. Having the metal rods sticking out makes the most basic tasks difficult. Because of this accident, Lindsay will be not be able to work to care for her two girls for at least three months. This has been extremely hard as the sole provider, as she even worked full time while battling cancer.

She has already racked up several thousands of dollars in medical bills due to insurance only covering a portion. Because of the severity of her injury, Lindsay had no choice but to go to an out of network hospital to be cared for. With the holidays right around the corner, this couldn’t have come at a worse time. Lindsay has always been a source of positivity and someone for many to look up to, and now she needs our help.
