Help for Linda and Jax, brutal dog attack survivors

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Lauren, and I am asking you to help a very dear friend of my family, Linda, with medical and vet bills she has obtained after suffering a brutal attack on herself and her dog on April 30th at her local park in Flint, Michigan. I hope you will consider helping Linda recover from this trauma by donating anything you are able to.

While walking her dog on leash at the park, a woman pulled into the parking lot and released 4 Pitbulls from her car. There may have been 5 Pitbulls; the exact number of dogs is unclear from videos and eyewitness accounts. Only one dog had a collar on and none of the dogs had leashes. Linda and her dog Jax were approximately 50 yards away when the Pitbulls ran from the parking lot to attack Jax. Linda was trampled to the ground several times and Jax was pinned to the ground by his throat. Linda suffered multiple bites from several dogs and Jax had his head/ears bitten severely and had deep wounds on his face, neck and legs. The Pitbull’s owner eventually recalled her dogs and drove away, offering no assistance.

After the attack, Linda called the police who told her they had too many other calls and would not be able to respond for at least another day. They instructed her to call animal control. At that time Linda’s son arrived at the park to assist by taking Jax to the emergency vet and Linda to the ER.

So far, Jax’s vet bills are approximately $4,000 for the initial emergency care and the bills are only likely to increase with time. The initial care included removing the rest of Jax’s ear, stitches in his neck and mouth, and the installation of two drain tubes in his neck. Today, Jax is refusing to eat and is acting very lethargic. We are very afraid of the long-term effects this attack will have on Jax. Linda required several sets of stitches on her hand and will likely need rabies shots. I have known Linda my whole life and she is a sweet, loving person and her dog has always been a gentle, kind soul.

I understand this story is difficult to hear, but I hope you will read this and imagine the horror that Linda and Jax have endured and offer her some help to get through this awful time. Any amount you are willing to contribute towards her medical bills will be greatly appreciated, and if you’re unable to contribute at this time, sharing this post with your friends and family would mean the world to Linda and Jax.
