Our sweet Lily is very ill. The doctors are doing everything they can but her little body keeps hitting road blocks. The last update from mom is:

Lily update:

It was another rough night. Battling fever most the night. This mornings chest X-ray showed no improvement and showed that her effusion in her right lung has gotten worse. An ultrasound has been done and we’re waiting on results. If it’s too large they’ll have to put in a chest tube to drain it. They also had to do a “bag and gag” which is what you see in these first pics. It’s basically manually coughing up phlegm. Her results from the culture have the exact bacteria which is too long for me to even try to spell, but they were using the right antibiotics already to treat it. She’s having trouble with her stomach absorbing her seizure meds and CBD oil so they put her feeding tube down past her stomach and into her intestines to hopefully allow her to have feedings without spitting it up and absorb her meds. The doc said he leaves at night thinking about Lily and wakes up with a game plan every morning for her. He’s been so amazing. He reminded us that he’ll continue doing all he can but at this point it’s her body that has to fight. Her stomach basically shut down which is why the tube being in her intestines may help get her the nutrients for the strength she needs to fight these infections both viral and bacteria. Again, I’m overwhelmed by the love being shown to our entire family but mostly for our SuperGirl! We love you ALL!! ❤️
