Friends, family, all who love Lesley Brown...we desperately need your help.  

Over the past few weeks, Lesley has developed a very large tumor in her thyroid. Cells taken from the tumor during a biopsy a couple of days ago suggest this could be a rare, very aggressive, and very difficult to treat type of cancer.  These same cells were also found in lymph nodes in her neck.  We have a very experienced team of doctors looking at this and they are all very puzzled and unsure exactly what this is.  Therefore, we are awaiting emergent referral to Vanderbilt for radical surgery to remove the thyroid, tumor and lymph nodes, as well as some of the blood vessels and muscles in her neck.  This is a very extensive and difficult surgery.  The tumor has pushed her trachea and esophagus out of their normal alignment, and has also compressed some very important blood vessels in her chest.  She is having difficulty draining blood from the top half of her body.  

This is a life-threatening situation, whether or not the tumor is cancerous.  

She is uncomfortable and struggling, but is home as we wait to leave for Vanderbilt as soon as we get the call.  As I type this, a team of some of the best surgeons in the world is being hand picked and preparing for her arrival.  Once they remove the mass, we will have a clear diagnosis and, hopefully, a path forward.

We are asking for financial help to supplement our incomes, to pay the mounting medical bills, and to keep afloat.  We are also asking for any prayers, love, Reiki, good magic, and healing vibes you can send our way.  

Lesley is the love of my life, my best friend, my home.  I simply cannot be without her.
