I'm sure if you have ever gone to The Boulevard, in Johnstown, PA, you have met Lauren Laslo! You can find her either behind the bar, running around the restaurant (and up and down the stairs), or enjoying a drink herself at the bar. Personally I have never seen her with anything except a bright attitude and an even brighter smile.
Unfortunately, recently Lauren has received a life altering medical diagnosis. On March 19th, 5 years after the passing of her mother, Lauren received news that there was something abnormal found on her mammogram and she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Lauren had been doing the right thing and going for routine check ups since she lost her mom to breast and uterine cancer just 5 years earlier, and thank God she was, otherwise this could have gone on untreated much longer.
Lauren, has already had one surgery and today 4/27/2020 she had her port placed to begin chemo tomorrow. She will receive chemo treatments once a week for the next 3 months and following that will undergo an additional surgery.
As many know, Lauren works in the service industry at a local bar/restaurant, The Boulevard. With the recent developments of the Stay at Home order, her hours were already decreased and now that her chemo will begin Lauren simply cannot work due to her weakened immune system.
Please consider donating anything you can to help Lauren while she fights this cancer and continues to raise her 16 year old daughter. Lauren also has a son who is 22 and she is adamant that she will win this battle to continue to be here for both of her children!
Thank you for any support you can provide - and if you cannot provide monetary support consider sharing her story and praying for her.
