Help for Kristin to get back on her feet
Donation protected
Kristin Schicke was in a terrible accident on June 16th, 2019. She was an innocent passenger who was injured and spent 20 days in the hospital, 5 days in ICU, and had 5 surgeries. Her right foot and leg were severely injured. In order to prevent an amputation the surgeons removed an artery, tendon, and skin (a skin graft) from her left arm to place on her injured leg. They also took skin and tissue ( a skin flap) from her right thigh to place on her injured foot. She went back to the Operating Room 3 more times under emergency situations due to the new artery clotting off and a hematoma formed under the new skin flap twice. Kristin was discharged from St Francis on July 5th. She continues to have extensive daily dressing changes to both her arm and leg/foot. She will not be able to walk on her "new" leg for months. Once she can be weight bearing on her foot/leg she will have Physical Therapy ect... Kristin lives with her 17 year old daughter, Nautica. Grandma Jen has temporarily moved in with Kristin to help her with her daily care needs. Kristin won't be able to work for awhile and unfortunatly wasn't financially prepared for this situation. It is very difficult to ask for assistance and understand completely when funds are tight, so please don't feel obligated to donate. We greatly appreciate prayers for a full recovery. Thank you to all of our family and friends who have helped out in any way during this difficult time. We are feeling more rested and less stressed now that she is at home recovering.
