Dear friends and family,

As many of you know, Jose has been a part of our lives for almost 20 years.   In the beginning, he would open the store just up the street, and we would say hello every morning.  A few years ago, he became even more important to us.  He started helping me every weekday morning - coming into our home after the morning rush of getting out to school and work, and would straighten up after us.  Providing order to our chaos -  he was instrumental from day one.  He has really been my angel and saving grace as I do my best to juggle work and home.

We are all happy when we see him, and so thankful to have him in our lives.  As the kids learn Spanish in school, they greet him daily, and ask how he is.   He responds with a loving smile and always asks how everyone is.  He is honest, kind, thoughtful and caring.  I am truly  thankful for him every single day.  He is like
a part of our family.

This last year has been incredibly difficult for all of us - and  the restaurant jobs that Jose relies on are no longer there.  Jose is one of the many that the pandemic has affected greatly.

Jose has his own family, including grandchildren, in Mexico that he works hard to help support from afar. 

As a parent, I can only imagine how trying this is, on so many different levels.  I recently learned more about Jose's family, including the fact that his daughter, Veronica, is battling cancer, and medical bills are rising.

I will continue to help Jose as much as I can - just as he helps me almost every day.  In sharing this story, I've learned that others would also love to help Jose and his family, so I've set up this GoFundMe page.  All the money will go directly to Jose, his family and Veronica's treatment.  No amount is too small.
