Help for Jason Huxford

Those who know Jason Huxford (Non Sanctus) are probably already familiar with the remarkable sequence of blows he has recently suffered. After several long years as caregiver to his wife Vashti, who he recently lost to ALS, Jason finds himself among the many workers that Intel recently cut. He is now trying to get through all the end-of-life expenses associated with Vashti's death while between jobs, and while having reached the limit of his unemployment coverage. He now faces the new challenge of caring for his parents, who are no longer able to care for themselves unassisted.

With all of these blows happening at once, it's no wonder that Jason's finances are under considerable strain. There are limits to what we, his friends, can do to help with the loss and grief he's suffering, but we do have a real power to at least help alleviate the financial stress that's making an already-difficult situation untenable.

Those who know Jason will already know this, as well: he is one of the best of us. He's a bulwark of support and strength for everyone who knows him. His drive to help and support others is what makes him who he is. We have a chance to offer that care back to him now, in the moment when it will do him the most possible good.
