Help for Janet Graham, Ms. G ❤️

On February 7th, 2025, my amazing mom, Janet, was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. I know I’m biased, but of all the people in the world, she didn’t deserve this. She is an unbelievably intelligent teacher, a friend to everyone, a second mom to some, and a fierce advocate, especially when it comes to the welfare of seniors. For the past 8 years, she’s been battling a horrific spinal disease, and just last year, after so much pain and difficulty, she finally managed to get back to teaching—the work that has always given her purpose and made her feel alive.

Mom was a teacher for many years, and the impact she had on her students was profound. She taught me and all my friends in high school, and watching her in front of that classroom, I truly saw the difference she made. She took subjects that could be boring and monotonous and turned them into something exciting. That’s just who she is—someone who makes the world a better place and makes people feel seen and heard. She brings the best out in everything she touches, Whether it was in her classroom or through her theatre company, Deadpan Alley, she poured herself into helping others find their voice, their gumption, and a place to shine. She always said it was the actors that gave her life and freedom. She saved my life more times than I can count.

Now, though, Mom is unable to work. She hasn’t been able to since December, and her doctors have advised that she won’t be able to for the foreseeable future. She’s undergoing aggressive chemotherapy, which is incredibly taxing on her body, but unfortunately, the expenses continue to pile up. Even when your quality of life is taken from you, the bills don’t stop.

If I could give my mom the world, I would. But as I can’t, I’m turning to others. In a time when everyone is facing hardships of their own, I’m hoping we can come together to ease some of the financial burdens she’s facing. The road ahead is uncertain, but we do know there will be expenses—some unavoidable, others essential—that will be impossible to meet without help.

We’re asking for support emotionally as well. Any contribution, whether it’s financial or just a kind word, will make a difference. No one should have to worry about survival while fighting for their life, but we know that’s the reality for so many people. We truly hate to have to ask, but from the bottom of our hearts, we would be so grateful for any support.

Thank you so much for your kindness and compassion.
