Help for James Firkins medical and other expenses.

This gofundme was started to help offset the medical expenses and funeral costs for James Firkins. About six weeks ago my Dad was working a few days a week building storage buildings. It was manual labor and while he had definitely slowed down in his older age he could still build an 8ft by 10ft building in a day. That all changed one morning when he couldn't stand up, had difficulty walking and just wasn't able function any more. At first we all thought that he may have had a stroke, but it turns out that a tumor had formed in his brain. The doctors and medical team that he had worked quickly but through the process we found that he was already dealing with late stage cancer in his lungs and it had spread to his liver and spine. Even after the Oncologist gave him the news he was determined to fight this with radiation and chemotherapy, knowing that we could never cure this but only hope to slow its progress. Sadly before he was able to begin treatment we found that the disease had already spread too far and my Father decided that he wanted to be at home and began Hospice treatments. Insurance and Medicaid are helping but there is always something that comes up, and my Father didn't have life insurance. Our family greatly appreciates any help that you can give.
