Help for Jacob’s medical bills

Donation protected

my 1st cousin and her son as they are in need of financial assistance.

On July 29th her son Jacob was in an accident in their home resulting in a back injury from falling into their wooden staircase. Due to the accident he could not move his lower extremities. 911 was immediately called and he was taken away by ambulance. After 2 days in the ER trauma center and tons of bloodwork, xrays, scans(3), and mri’s (2), it was determined that he had compression on his spinal cord.

He was then immediately rushed to surgery, where a neuro surgeon performed a discectomy on T 11&12 to remove the compression on his spinal cord. The surgery was successful in itself but unfortunately her son did not regain feeling yet and spent several more days in the hospital trying to reduce swelling and get the pain under control. On 8/4, he was then transported to Kessler institute for inpatient care where he remains until further notice.

At the point he is discharged, he will then be in Kessler as an outpatient and need to return each day for occupational therapy and physical therapy.

Although slow going, he is showing improvement each day. He is 20 years old.

The family is large and only has one income. They do have medical insurance but will still be responsible for a large amount of the cost as per their plan eligibility. They also do not have outpatient therapy on their plan so they will be responsible for all of that cost as well.

Any help is greatly appreciated. No amount is too small. Please contribute what you can if you are so inclined, and most importantly please share this with family, friends and communities. If you cant help, maybe they can.

Thank you for your help it is greatly appreciated and truly a blessing.

With much appreciation, Gina (on behalf of the Family)

UPDATE: Jacob is now home as of August 16 and is recuperating with his family. He goes to Kessler outpatient facility 3 to 4 times a week where he is currently regaining back his strength. Unfortunately he still having pain in the nerves and spasms but they are hoping in time that will all go away given his age and health. Please continue to share this gofundme it is greatly appreciated and most importantly please pray for a full recovery. thank you!!
