Hi, my name is Jess and I am trying to raise funds to help our dad, Gary, get into an intensive stroke rehab program. On September 8th he went in to have a total laryngectomy due to having throat cancer. During his 13 hour surgery, he suffered a massive right MCA stroke. We were told he may not survive, he may never walk, talk, etc. Over the past 4 months he has made such HUGE progress. He now needs to go to an intensive stroke rehab program where he can have several hours of therapy a day. This will allow my mom to be able to bring him home for good. He is finally able to move his left leg and just this week regained vision in his left eye. Unfortunately insurance does not want to pay for the rehab and just wants to send him to a nursing home where we fear he will just decline and never come home. We are trying to raise the funds to help pay for the rehab facility. Anyone who knows my parents knows they are the most generous people and would give the shirts off their backs to help you. I will do anything in my power to help get him to rehab. My mom has spent every day at his bedside and has been his biggest advocate, fighting insurance companies and speaking with state representatives. Please help us make this happen!!!
