I'm raising money for my niece, Bekah (Kitzhaber), her husband, Hutch (Wallace), and their baby Josephine. On Thursday evening, October 7th, Hutch was in a motorcycle accident that resulted in him getting airlifted to a trauma hospital in Seattle. Hutch was riding home with his friend on their bikes and Hutch hit a tractor trailer. Hutch was wearing his helmet and proper protective gear, but was seriously injured. He was airlifted to the trauma hospital and put into a medically induced coma. He had a broken left femur, busted knee cap, broken ankle, broken left arm, fractured wrist, two broken cheek bones and a concussion with a brain bleed. He spent about a month in the hospital. During that time, Bekah gave birth to their first born, Josephine.

After Hutch got out of the hospital, the family moved from their second floor apartment to a ground floor residence on the military base, JBLM, near Seattle. They are adjusting to their new life as parents. Hutch will be on crutches for a quite a while and unable to work at his job.

After all that craziness, the medical bills started coming in. I think they said it was over $200,000. Fortunately, they have insurance. However, there are deductibles, and other expenses that came up. This puts Hutch and Bekah in a tough spot financially. With medical bills from the accident and new baby expenses, it has been tough.
