Help for Howard and Lisa Chafe

It’s been a rough start of the year for Howard and Lisa Chafe. On Wednesday, January 5, and with very little symptomatic warning, Howard was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Within four days he would have surgery and have that tumour confirmed as cancerous. After a prolonged and sadly isolated stay (because of hospital covid protocols), he is home again and doing ok. The tumour and surgery however have left him with impaired use of his right arm, and a significant loss of mobility in his right leg. We don’t know yet how much function he will regain. He will also have courses of radiation and chemotherapy in his future.

There is no denying that this month as been incredibly difficult, and the path forward holds significant challenges. The last thing we want now is for Howard and Lisa to be thinking about money, and so we are launching this Go Fund Me to provide a bit of stability and assurance as they navigate and prioritize Howard’s care.

Anyone who knows either of them knows their limitless generosity. Now we want to return the favour.
