Hi! I'm Henry. I'm a 4yo Frenchie. My nicknames are Henrod's, Hippus, Hippus Long Stocking or baby hippo.

I live with my Mom and Dad, Tracy and Kevin. I have a big sister Stella who's an old English mastiff, a big brother Porter who's a Boerboel mastiff and my big brother Winston whose a Frenchie just like me. I was born with hemivertebra, a fancy word that I don't know other than they say my back didn't form right before I was born. It's has never stopped me until now!

I was feeling like a confident, single young man until

the other night. I somehow hurt myself, now I can't walk right, my legs are wobbly and it hurts. Mom and Dad took me to the emergency hospital and they said I have to stay here. I had something called an MRI and the doctor says I have

IVDE - Intervertebral Disc Extrusion at L3 & L4 and a surprise diagnosis of

Discospondylitis which is an infection of the intervertebral discs and bones in a seperate area of my spine. Because of this they were unable to take me straight to surgery.

They said samples are being sent off for culture and long term antibiotics that will be used to treat my infection. Apparently I will now have surgery on Monday 7/19/21( I don't understand those numbers but it's tomorrow) Hate that I had to have to go under anesthesia twice in three days but they needed the antibiotic to start working on the infection first. Surgery will be what they call a 'Double level spinal decompression' They say I have to stay here for 10+ days.

This has been extremely ruff for my Mom and Dad, Mom's been crying a lot, they are super stressed out over this crazy thing they call 'money' something about using all of their savings and selling a kidney. Apparently my surgery and ongoing care is gonna break the bank.
