My name is John and I’ve set up this fundraiser to raise money towards the production & promotion costs of 'Your Comfort Zone', the latest album from the artist 'Peyoti for President', released July 4th this year, as well as fund future work on an international scale, including the release of the album on vinyl. I could just say “it’s great music, please give generously because we want more of it”, but this would be doing a disservice to an artist whose body of work goes back to 2008 and who has been described by one professional music critic as, “Buena Vista Social Club meets Rage Against the Machine”, pointing to its intriguing and exciting mix of Latin, Ska, Reggae, with social & political commentary, using music to raise awareness of some of the most important issues of our times. Human rights, the military industrial complex, and even the pharmaceutical industry.
There is no doubt about the sheer musical talent evident in Peyoti's work to anyone who takes an interest in music, in my case going back to the 50’s and 60’s, but for me it’s importance lies in the inspiring messages that come with the music and make it stand out as worthy of your financial help – Bobby Vee, Cliff Richards or their modern day, main-stream music idols, it ain’t!
By way of biography, Peyoti’s work has received glowing reviews from notable publications such as Time Out, The Independent Newspaper, Metro News, with Rolling Stone magazine giving the debut album, 'Rising Tide of Conformity' an outstanding 4 star review. His work has also featured on TV in the Netflix series 'Gentefied and in the feature film 'The Impact'. Additionally Peyoti’s music has been used by the news shows Democracy Now in the US, and the UK’s Crispin Flintoff Show as well as other international organisations
Live support and opening slots include; Manu Chao, the Franco Spanish musician whom he accompanied as the UK part of the 'Radio Bemba' International tour, and whose music like that of Peyoti is infomed by the social issues confronting us all, Manu Chao for example concentrating on the need for psychiatric services fit for purpose. Peyoti opened for Buena Vista Social Club at Belgium’s prestigious 'Sfinks festival, but has performed concerts around the world both solo and with bigger band line-ups, including Europe’s biggest free festival, Przystanek Woodstock in Poland, where he performed main-stage in front of 200,000 spectators.

The latest album and its lyrics address issues of our time and its inspirational message is that we shouldn’t just accept things as they are but we should question and work together to build a better world – a message encapsulated nicely in the tracks on the album
It's incredibly important to point out that all of this has been achieved independently by Peyoti, the artist himself. Even the record label, production costs, PR agencies, session musician costs etc. have been raised and paid for independently. So, is the music worthy?
To cite another music critic, the message of Peyoti’s very listenable music is:-
”Be free, rebel, live, enjoy. Be a bohemian, a vagabond, a cosmopolitan. Be a non-
conformist. Be compassionate, brotherly, humane in the ocean of life. Most gratifying of all is here we don't just encounter the usual feel-good freedom phrases of the colourful world music community, but with Peyoti we are dealing with one of the rare artists who courageously points out injustices that other 'musical activists' don't dare touch. A hot candidate for a potential cult classic!”
(Sabrina Khalil, Music critic - Radio Munchen July 2025)
This call to individual and collective activism finds expression in 'Your Comfort Zone', in tracks addressing the plight of children in conflict zones and the debate around COVID vaccination, and in what is an increasingly fraught world raising awareness of such issues would seem important. So yes, it's unique feel-good music but much more! Do give generously, because music like this deserves to be heard by a wider audience.
